You have to wait until you're 75 for a free TV licence.

I'm 62 and have to wait till I'm 66 for my pension. But I do appreciate free prescriptions for HRT and asthma medications.

My Dad took early retirement at age 60 and is now 91. Some of his relatives lived to over 100. That's 41 years retired. 36 years of state pension. And he's thoroughly enjoyed these years! Enjoy Hurdity!

Like Stella Jane , we found it a bi todd when we joined the NT, I remember my husband asking did they do discount for over 60"s, the women laughed and said, if that was the case, everyone would be getting discount as they are all over 60 ! :)

If you are not getting an over 60s discount with the National Trust, you should be.  We do.

Same for English Heritage.

We both have 'senior rail cards', which gives a third off. :)

Well I don't feel any different today, as nothing has changed - although maybe I will when I get my first payment  ::). Perhpas now I've said it, i will now banish the P word - but also will definitely have a look out for concessions.  :)

I was out for lunch yesterday with a group of girlfriends and the pub had Diamond cards for older people giving you a discount on meals there.  Some of them filled them in but you have to use them on your 2nd visit.

A lot of concessions still start at 60 but I keep forgetting to check. It doesn't seem to be the case for music gigs and festivals though sadly.
