I wouldn't worry.  This probably means a cold wet summer.

Rather that than frying all summer.   I can't function in the heat.  Some folk can, but I just can't.

I worry about all those pink Brits who will take to the great outdoors in their thousands and cook like sausages.  Looks ridiculous and could be dangerous.

I can't deal with prolonged heat either.

40 years ago (1976) my husband and I got married in the middle of the heatwave/drought.  How odd if it happens again for our Ruby Wedding  ::)

I do hope it won't be as extreme as they are predicting.

1975 and '76 were very very hot - remember the influx of ladybirds from the Continent, the ones that took chunks out of people.  Worries me that sun bathers were using 'crisp and dry'  :o !!!

Will need to buy lots of lollies  ;)

The long hot summers of 75/76. I remember them well. Got fried at Radio Clyde day at Bellahouston Park. Amazing thunderstorm at Largs too. To say I was pooping myself was putting it mildly. Hubby to be deliberately locked me out the car, with lightning flashing all around.

Heat & me don't go together, unless I'm beside a nice cool pool.  ;)

Being pregnant through a hot summer is also quite uncomfortable to say the least.  2 of mine were July babies.  DIL also carried both hers into the autumn and she is a large lady.  she must have been so uncomfortable.

A relative carried her twins through the Summer of 1959 until August, at that time the hottest on recent record!

our son commutes into the city of London.  that always seems to be the hottest place when temperatures rise.

This is forecast every year without fail at this time of year, and in around October it will be "100 days of snow" or something.

What they really mean, is - the temperature will be a bit more mild until around October when it will drop for a a few months until about May. Or - there will be seasons.
