Starting to worry a little
« on: March 18, 2016, 01:12:16 PM »

I've been bleeding/spotting for the last 20 days, I realise it might be down to not having any prog for quite a few months, not since August last year  :o but in October I tried Yaz which was awful!  and in November I tried Qlaira for a few weeks so I've had a bit. My last bleed was in January and I think this was due to stopping Qlaira??
I'm using 4 pumps of oestrogel, Annie Evans prescribed Sandrena which I was using but I started to run out and had decided that I preferred the Oestrogel for which I got a new prescription. There was a slight delay in me receiving it so I had to spread my Sandrena which left me a little short, I had to just use 2 (I think) sachets for 2 days, I've been bleeding/spotting ever since  :-\

I'm having the Mirena in 3 weeks time but should I be concerned about this long bleed? What should I do?

Thanks

If a lady has her womb then I think that she must have a bleed at least every 3 months.  Hence the need for progesterone. The womb requires cleansing to avoid health problems.  Maybe an e-mail to Dr Evans?

If you haven't had any prog then your lining will have built up with all that extra oestrogen  - has your own cycle been suppressed?  I would definitely report this to your doc and maybe ask for a scan. The Mirena will thin the lining but perhaps good idea to have it checked first?

Thank you,
CLKD I just phoned Annie's secretary to discuss things but the earliest I could speak to Annie wasn't until mid April, I can email her but she doesn't answer emails until next Thursday.

Hurdity, I suspect by the time my GP refers me and then I've waited for the appt for scan to come through I will have already have had the Mirena  :-\

That's good Chi chi, how much will it cost and where have you got to go?

I really don't think you have anything to worry about.  If you don't take progesterone for a long time, you will start to shed and it goes on forever!  It will be interesting to see what your lining measurement is.  Have you ever had an internal scan before?

Good luck for tomorrow and please let us know how you get on.
