Anybody had a Gait Scan for foot problems and was it worth it?

A few years ago I needed new trainers and had a gait test. I had to walk on a treadmill and it was computerised and looked at how you feet touched the floor, whether they turned in or out etc. It then determined which kind of trainer I needed and I have to say they have been wonderful.

Is that the same thing?

Yes it is but a bit more technical so you can have insoles made.

Where would you go for a gait test?  A good shoe shop or a walking shop ?

I went to a sports shop.  It's free and I was a bit  ::) ::) About it but he selected  a couple of pairs of trainers after looking at the results and the ones I chose have been perfect from day one. Some people walk on the insides of their feet, or outside or put more pressure in certain areas. It's very clever really.

A full gait Scan which is a bit more technical than shop ones can be done in some orthopaedic hospitals and my chiropractor has one and a local podiatrist does

I had one done some years ago by a podiatrist.  I was referred to him by a chiropractor.  I had custom made insoles made to correct my posture before the chiropractor started doing any adjustments.  Made so much difference to me, worth every penny and pound  :)
