Yes, my husband and brother in law are sad as he was important to them both.

His music and memory will live on and I imagine his newly released album will storm the music charts.

Labyrinth is one of my favourite films!  I've never been a fan of David Bowie's music (except Under Pressure and Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth), but Jareth will live in my memory for ever!

I have watched the video of Bowie and Jagger about 10 times this morning ....Dancing in the Streets.  Wonderful!  I also walk to Bowie most days so I will definitely miss him.

The exhibition at the V and A a few years ago was amazing. This has made me really sad, funnily enough Brian Mathews played The Laughing Gnome on his Sound of the 60's show on Saturday morning and I was humming it all weekend.

I think that was the song that DB disliked the most  ::) but it is one that I remember from very early on.

How old is Brian Matthews?

He is 87. He played it on his 'three records that are loosely connected' slot. He played one by Elvis Presley, one by Shirley Bassey and one by David Bowie and the connection was that they all had been born on the previous day - 8th January.
