Watching Ainlsey with Len earlier they tried some Cypriot food ……… and I wondered what the language is so had a google as you do  ::) …… seems Turkish and Cypriot are the main languages plus English 'cos we were there.  Food - squid  :sick02: and other fish plus lots of fresh fruits, nuts and veg..  I'd be OK with that ………. the Island has a huge history  8)

Very huge history in cyprus.  Its much nearer the start if middle east than most people imagine. A stones throw from Syria.  As there are British sovereign bases / army and raf personnel you feel safe enough.

Its the only occupied country left in the world i think, separated by the green buffer line that the UN patrol.  Ive never been to the turkish part only the south.
The food is good, just my kind of thing.
Cant say im overly keen on the local wines, we usually buy chilean wine, much the same as we do here.

Oh you just put me in the mood to go back.

I don't think so ……….. it was in the late 1960s.

Watched Alex Pollisi last night and Gino earlier this evening - it was like being on holiday from my arm chair  ;D but oh the distances and it meant taking a ferry to Capri and Ischia  :o

Didn't like Capri much. When we went we weren't impressed.
Could you do a ferry, it's not like being trapped on a plane.

I loved the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento, just didn't think Capri lived up to the hype.
I was the same when we went to St. Tropez, I expected that to be stunning but it's a bit of a dump.

After the horrid 3 weeks we've been through we are taking time out ……….. shutting ourselves away once we've done the Duty Visit to recoup.  Weather forecast is for blustery wind with heavy rain: again .  Hopefully there will be lots on TV that we can sleep through!

Stay safe you all!
