Ju Ju.... similar path to yours, I had shingles, persistant chest infection, broken leg, motorway crash and a hit and run in the space of 6 months around end of 2014 beginnng of 2015.  I too hope to have a better year.

Well, in 2015 life really kicked me up the arse, so this year I have decided to kick back.

I began yesterday by putting a note on the window screen of a car, that park on the grass verge, outside our house.

It did feel good.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!

I gave up resolutions some years ago - but instead I just decide anyway if I want to do something or should/should not do something - at any time of the year! Having resolutions set me up for disappointment if I didn't achieve them and especially if I then made the same ones the following year so I gave them up and feel much better for it.

I also wish you all good health and happiness ..... :)

I said

'Please do not park on the grass, it is NOT necessary'

It felt like I had regained a bit of control  8).

Being more assertive is wonderfully positive!

I agree with hurdity. Making new year resolutions does set you up for failure. It's so easy to not follow through, then feel disappointed in yourself. Better to follow through when motivated and fail your way to success. If you decide to lose weight, do it for yourself, forgive yourself for lapses, shrug your shoulders and carry on. You're human!

Eleanor2, I hate it when people park outside your house, theres a guy next door who sometimes parks half outside his house and half outside my house or all outside my house, he dosnt park outside his own as he cant open his door cos of the tree however if he parked the otherway which I do he could.  I do my usual bit of ranting as I park on the otherside of the road and walk across to my house hoping he hears me  >:(

I know how you feel clio.

For so long I have tried not to rock the boat and let things go.  This car was visiting my next door neighbours, who had a New Years Eve party.  They are very annoying neighbours who shriek and swear at the children (the mother anyway).  The kids were screaming on the trampoline at 1am on new years day. Up till now I've avoided confrontation, but they really go too far.

I hope they are prepared for the new me ::)

Hi, I'm new to this forum but Happy New year to everyone. Your advice and general chit chat is invaluable. Although I wouldn't wish the menopause on anyone it's nice to know others understand what you are going through. Thank you.
My hopes for the New year is laughter, laughter and more laughter which has been sadly lacking these last few years.
