OVARY REMOVAL - 1 YEAR ON PAIN
« on: December 09, 2015, 08:02:11 AM »

I had ovaries removed over 15 months ago, without to many problems but now I am experiencing pain where they used to be it's like something pulling all the time, also like period pains?  Has anyone else experienced anything like this.  I am going to see the doctor about this.

Hi Winnie. It's good that you are going to get this checked out. It could be that where your ovaries were removed then you have scar tissue which is now pulling on something else. I'm not that familiar with ovarian surgery though but it seems that this could happen?

You could contact the ovarian cancer support group, 'ovacome' and ask there?

I've had no problems since mine came out, but had a lot of pain beforehand due to lots of adhesions. I'm wondering if you've maybe got adhesions after your op. They are quite common after ops.

Most likely is adhesions that can occur/give symptoms years after the operation.  As operating causes them they do not usually try and get rid of them unless causing severe problems but they are manageable.

Good luck at your appt.
