My husband is insulin dependant diabetic and injects into his tummy up to 6 times a day.  Sometimes he gets very spectacular bruising if he hits a blood vessel.
My arm bruise is just a faint shadow now.

My hubby is exactly the same. He uses different sites, tummy and upper thigh and has lovely little bruises all over depending like you say if he hits a blood vessel. They don't actually hurt though
