My GP is really good, works with me and listens, however she said that if I don't get a bleed by 1 year I am then post meno? I am 50 now and always thought it had to be 2 years until 52?

Hi CLKD, my symptoms aren't bad, still the odd night sweat, but not much else. Memory is still dreadful.

The two year thing is for contraceptive use before 50 ie continue to use contraception for 2 years after last bleed if under 50, and 1 year if over 50. The post-meno cut off is set at a year to make sure that any bleeds after 12 months without one get checked at any age - so that things aren't missed. A number of women still get the odd natural period after the cut-off time.

That makes sense Hurdity. Fingers crossed this is it.
CLKD, that's how I see it now, mum would be looking down saying 'just get a move on'
Hopefully get the house on the market this week.
