I have now had my hysteroscopy which looked all clear and consultant happy with just a polyp but took biopsy in case.  I have been confirmed grade 1 endometrial cancer!   I am both shocked and devestated by this news as was the consultant when she was phoned with my results. I have to have MRI on Friday to see if spread and then A disk ion will
Be made on best course of action for me.

Hi BLD19 - so sorry to hear your news and of course you will be shocked - it's not the news anyone wants to hear. However the good news is that Stage 1 means it has been caught at a very early stage and the outcome is generally good so I read, as it means it hopefully won't have spread beyond the uterus. Not sure what A disk ion is  :-\ but anyway  Ido hope it will be sorted out soon in terms of your treatment.

A woman who volunteers in one the places I work recently also had this - in her late 50's - and she had a hysterectomy with ovary removal and no other treatment ( ie no radio or chemo-therapy) and the cancer has been completely removed so hopefully this will be the same for you.

Good luck with your MRI scan on Friday and in the meantime  :bighug:

Not sure what A disk ion is

From the context, I would guess at 'decision', with a bit of predictive text  ;)

Hope the stage 1 bit means you will get better news, and it is caught early, BLD19

Sending you all my thoughts and best wishes. We have had several ladies with this on here over the years and all have had positive outcomes. I think you will be so glad to be free from the worry of the spotting, and will be able to look forward to a calm and peaceful life.xx

BLD19, I am so sorry to hear your news.  I know it's easy for others to say but you are fortunate it has been caught early and can be deal with relatively easily.  This could happen to any of us.

My neighbour was constantly bleeding, particularly after sex, and it carried on for a very long time.  She went to the doctor but they said it was the menopause (she was 50 at the time) but eventually she saw a specialist and cancer was diagnosed - I don't know what stage.  She had a full hysterectomy (I think that an ovary was also affected) which brought on instant menopause.

That was back in 1993 and she is now 72 and apart from a minor heart problem which is completely unrelated, she is going strong.  She said that the hysterectomy was life changing and gave her a whole new lease of life although of course it was very worrying at the time.  She did not have to have any further treatment either which was good news and I think very common with this type of cancer.

My best wishes to BLD19 and daisie, wishing you both a speedy recovery and hope to hear from you with updates.
