Another symptom ?
« on: October 07, 2015, 09:10:40 PM »

Just moaning I suppose and after the reassurance of anyone else who has experienced this. This last month has not been great but the last 4/5 days I have been having what I'd describe as goosebumps going up my neck into my head then my arms go goosebumps, just for a few seconds, then I go hot, not sweating just hot, I don't know if this is because it worries me or a type of sweat? Normally I am hot on and off especially in a morning not really sweating, today I have a rush of something go up into my head which makes me catch my breath for a second and I feel little bit faint again for few seconds, tonight I have had wobbly legs and felt hot again, so is this just good old perimenopause playing me up? I have taken blood pressure it's normal and heart rate ok even though I feel anxious, I have quite a few symptoms going on most days but not felt this rough for a few months,

Thanks

I get it, though not the heat afterwards. It's called (careful how I type this) formification and is a symptom of low estrogen. For me, it's like a thousand ants crawling across my shoulder. It's not unpleasant, just strange, and usually lasts only seconds, like you say. I also get the chills, but this is quite different. I suddenly shiver uncontrollably, regardless of  outside temperature, feel nauseaous and light headed. It is usually followed by spotting or a bleed within hours.

Hope this helps x

It seems that in peri, whatever is our normal pattern no longer is?!! I too get the itchy skin, but have only had it since starting hrt/the pill. Google 34 symptoms of peri menopause - it lists all the different skin related symptoms. Won't stop the itching but might knowing it is a recognised symptom x
