Hi daisy - I am so sorry to hear your diagnosis.  Have they not offered you some support or advice? I'm sure there will be ladies along who may have experience on this. I think your specialist/gynae should have given you you more information to hopefully reassure you. Did they outline the treatment you will be getting post operatively? I have several friends who have had breast or bowel cancer who seemed to sail through and are now 'all clear' - hopefully the hyster will be all that's needed.  Do keep us posted.   DG xxxxx

So sorry to hear your news Daisie.
I've no experience of this so can only send lots of hugs
Hopefully the hysterectomy will sort things out for you.
Do you have anybody you can contact for support or advice?

Hi Daisie. Not personally but a friend of mine was diagnosed with early stage womb cancer when she was 70 - she is now 81.

She had a full hyserectomy at the time and other tests to rule out any spread although they were absolutely sure it was contained as it was early stage and grade and once over the surgery she has been fine ever since.

She was of course well past any meno symptoms which did help.
My cousin who had ovarian cancer had a total hysterectomy in her early 50's before she had gone through meno so she did get quite severe meno symptoms ( hot flushes) after the operation but these eased off over time.

You are dealing with so much at the moment, take care of yourself xx

daisie - do call the nurse at the hospital - she will have seen so many ladies go through this and I'm sure will offer the right support and reassurance -  that is what they are trained to do.  Like many of the posts on MM about menopause and HRT, each women's experience will be different so to have a professional giving you the correct and appropriate information is really good.
Do keep us posted - we are here to support you.  DG x

ah thank you for that countrybumpkin...its just so scarey when they tell you i just went into shock, when i looked at the sheet of paper it did say stage 1 ..but to me the nurse  was not that comforting some how she said they do have at least 3 cases every week with these sort of results she just gave me a book to read on cancer thats not going to help me feel better and said mri scan set for the 14th this month and hysterectomy at the end of the month the book is put away in a cupboard for now thanks again x daisie

Hi Daisie,
I had an endometrial biopsy a few months ago and the waiting was agony.  The only thing I can tell you is that this type of cancer is very treatable. Keep that in mind.

Sending you massive hugs!

Sorry for your News!  Such a shock.  The Nurses' response doesn't sound exactly supportive either  >:(

You could ring Macmillan to see what support they can offer, including a one-off payment should you have bills to pay.  Your GP/Practice Nurse may well know of someone you can talk to and there are other cancer support groups, 'backup' springs to mind.

What support do you have at home?  You need to know how long you will be in Hospital, what clothing to take suitable for post-surgery, how long recovery will take …….. which is what the Nurse should have talked to you about.
