It's never been a problem ! Gp always encourages me to stop but they've never said that they wouldn't give me either .

Hmmm that's what I thought  :-\ although I don't understand why it's safe to have HRT if you smoke but not BCP? Is it because the HRT is bio identical  :oops: :neutral:

The level of hormones is a lot lower in HRT than in the BCP.
I don't think the bio-identical thing is an issue in this respect.

Synthetic oestrogen is much more potent than bio identical. That's why in general, BCPs are more powerful even though the dose may be the same eg Femeston is 2mg and so are some BCP eg Mercion.  The exception is bio identical BCPs like Qlaira and Zoley which suppress ovulation but are not as potent. The downside of this is that I feel occasionally, my own cycle is still tugging away in the background - hence reason I'd like to try something stronger.
