Mine's the same.  I was convinced it was the other mobile ringing  ::)

I really have to answer my phone as it could be one of my mothers carers. As she has quite a few I never recognise the numbers, so no choice for me.

They only have my land line though so I can screen my mobile calls.

I had 01296 340761 ring on the mobile earlier - 'they' really ought to know not to call when I'm watching TV  ;D.  A number from Aylesbury but we don't know anyone from that town.  DH reported an unwanted number earlier this week - has anyone done the same and what was the result?

We may report this one too.  Only people I know face-2-face have my mobile number  ::).  Is it possible to change a mobile as 1 is able to with a land-line?

Sometimes I find the same number calling over and over, I answer but don't say anything.  Keeping the line open means they are paying ;)

Hi CKLD, if I get a phone call I don't recognise I always google the number.  That usually gives a pretty good idea of what it is about.  I googled yours for you :)   PPI company.  Nuisance Call.  Thought you might like to know.  :)
Can be very helpful to google - had one or two in the past that actually I needed to take or call back.  x

If it's a cold call, then I have been known to answer, get through a couple of questions and then ask them to hold on. I put the phone next to the TV and let them listen. I got the idea from a coffee advert years ago.....it does work......oh and it's fun  ;D

If you are registered with TPS and get a cold call from this country, you should report it - noting time & date and anything else about the call will help.

My othe fav is when they ask if I'm the home owner I say no...I rent.

They take you off the list then. That really does work.

It's the ones that want you to switch on your computer. I've had quite a few really entertaining calls when Dave or Kevin....who are obviously not in this country, have talked me through what they want me to do. I've pretended and it's been hilarious. They tell you to log on to whatever, and I say...yes I've done that, and on it goes.
Have to say I'm usually bored when I do that...oh and they never call back  ;D

Yep that would work HB - a friend on mine says she's the cleaner.
OH favours asking them for a phone number so he can ring them back.

We are with the TPS - but Companies don't bother to check, even in the UK  >:(

TPS bless em, do seem to let an awful lot of calls through.

They don't let calls through - it's up to each Company to check with the TPS to see if each householder is registered and if so, they are not allowed by Law to contact them.  So Companies don't bother to contact them in the first instance which is why it is important for more of us to tell the Powers that Be who will then take them to Court.
