The very broad wooded Venetian blinds are very 'in' at the moment. They come in a range of colours.

I like them but you can't have curtains with them I don't think and my curtains are not that old.

I was thinking of Roman blinds. I have a really big window so would have to have two  ::)

Just seems a pity not to tidy things up if I'm going to have a new carpet  ;) Not sure hubby agrees though  ;D

I would do exactly the same. You may as well go the whole hog. The wooded ones sit inside the window the same as any other blind.

Our blinds are close to the window and the curtains hang 'outside' on the wall  ;).  Romans collect dust 'tha knows!  ;)

Shutters are usually outside …...

Count me out. I have just had 4 rooms painted in the last week and I have had enough of moving furniture and cleaning stuff. I will watch from the sidelines!

Probably not  ;D

There is a new style of shutter that goes inside the window. I've seen them and they are lovely but very expensive.
I have Roman blinds in the bedrooms CLKD and as for dust  ::), not in here  ;D

Don't think hubby will go for new furniture though, it was mostly new when we moved in and we decorated last year.
I do want new cushions too though  ;D......oh this could just get bigger.

HB - Perhaps your daughter could make new cushions - to make up for destroying the carpet!
She does sew doesn't she?
