Problems with tights
«

Hello ladies, I'm in need of tights advice. Wore my first pair of tights for first time in ages. Right size purchased, but ended up with "rope" round my middle. Are there any tights out there which are more comfortable? I don't wear them often, but always have some on standby, just in case.

I
think
Debenham's do some tights with a sort-of gentle, built-in wiastband that doesn't "rope" up, CG.

One of the best pairs I've had was from Asda of all places. Not expensive but fitted really well. Being short I can normally get tights to almost reach my neck
but these were fine.

I have the opposite problem, long skinny legs, so tights tend to go half mast, unless I wear stretchy pants over the top to keep them up. So I tend to only wear them for special occasions. I live in trousers.

Freda quite sure my hubby would be very happy if I did
However, I remember them all too well from school days. Hated them then & hate them now.

How well do they hold up though? Don't fancy looking like Nora Batty.
American company have solved the problem. Commando style tights. However, at around £25 per pair plus p&p, I think I will refrain.

Suppose it's only a few pounds. If they don't work I'll know not to buy again Libby.

THE last time I wore hold up was to my Dad's funeral in 200 and something and by the time I had walked up and back the hi-length boots were pulling them down

I hate tights, only wear them for weddings. I got Pretty Polly 8 denier naturals for daughter's wedding last year and will wear them again for wedding in September. You need to wear cotton gloves to put them on though.
I always get terrible static when I wear tights and any underslip ends up round my thighs as I walk so I get lined skirts/dresses.
Pretty Polly Pretty Cool are good for hygiene as they have an open gusset but too thick for a summer wedding.

Stockings with suspender belt if I need covered legs.
Sadly it takes ages to get them sorted out these days.
I used to cope with them everyday when I was working, I've no idea how, it ain't so easy now.
Had toyed with the idea of crotchless tights, but keep bottling out......
