Blood tests
« on: May 26, 2015, 06:20:39 PM »

I've made an appt today to get my estrogen, testosterone and possibly progesterone?? Checked
I'm still feeling really low and my anxiety seems to be really stepping up a notch  :-\ I really feel on the verge just lately and it's frightening me  :( I've emailed prof studd and told him exactly how I feel and that this is prob the worst I've felt since he started treating me! Don't know what his reply will be but 2 months in to having the implants I think is long enough to "give it time" I told him that I just don't feel right and I don't want to continue feeling like this  :-\
Hubby thinks it's a waste of money getting my bloods done elsewhere and that I just need to be more assertive and TELL him I want the implants removed and to go back on the gels but I don't think it's that easy?? I've read that even after implant removal it's still circulating in the body?
Anyway my appt is on Thursday  :-\

I hope you get the right answers, it must be awful for you

I have no experience of these implants, I had the contraceptive implant (5x rods) but they were removed the day I was sterilised and I don't remember much about it but my daughter had her rod removed Easter and she had a period within days

Let's hope if/when they're removed they will be out of your system quick

Implants are extremely difficult to get out due to their small size.  Prof studd should have made you aware of this.  You need to get.bloods done to see.where you are up to then if low top up if too high you may have to ride it out until levels drop.

No he didn't make me aware  >:( when I asked about possible side effects he just shrugged it off and said "feel good"???
The private practice where I'm having the tests done, one of the doctors/gynaecologist specialises in the fitting and removal of implants including deep and impalpable implants, maybe she could remove them?
I just want to feel better  :-\ chatting to mum the other day she told me she started her flushes etc at 42 (I always thought she was older) I'm 41 this year.

Will do  ;) I know it sounds daft but I'm hoping that my results show I'm either too high or too low, anything to explain why I'm feeling so down in the dumps

Do bloods first see where you are then see if they will attempt removal as my chap says its difficult and has only ever got one out fully.

Then perhaps consider an anti-depressant to lift mood?

Thank you, yeah one step at a time  ;)
CLKD I'm already on AD's, maximum dose escitalopram and 100 mg lamotrigine  :-\ I've tried most and none of them have really worked  :-\

Ah - what do you mean haven't worked?  Mine ease symptoms enough for me to get up each morning.  I feel hung over a bit and my head would love to sleep more  ::) but once out of bed, fed and watered I feel better.  It isn't a cure for me as I am aware that I take them ……..

I know others who take AD's and have said they feel better like before they took them. I still very rarely want to go out socialising it's only family do's I go to now, avoid pubs etc.
I've never been so bad that I haven't wanted to get out of bed (except when I had my meltdown 3 years ago) my anxiety is what's left from that episode  >:(
I had PND after my first daughter and never really got over that properly, my confidence went and the "I'm not good enough" thoughts started then. Like I say I'm not so bad that I don't want to get up but I know I'm not like I used to be!

But that is how they cope  ;) - what they tell you and what is happening inside  :-\

I have days when it's too much to be bothered.  Those days I prefer to be in our garden  ::).  Recognisisng when I need a hike in dose is easier now thank goodness!

I take beta-blockas and have an emergency 'as necessary' drug for the anxiety.  It's Trial and Error ain't it!
