A bit embarrassing
« on: May 18, 2015, 01:37:47 AM »

wonder if anyone can help me, I've been on Prempak c for about a year and I've noticed that over the past six months I've got a load of spots on my buttocks. My skin elsewhere is very good, I've never suffered with acne. I haven't changed my washing products so I was wondering if this could be down to hormones. They look very ugly but aren't painful.  :( :(

Hi undergroundbarbie,

Depending on what the spots look like this could be Keratosis pilaris. This is where the follicle gets blocked and it is also common on the tops of the arms. Exfoliation and moisturising help.

Or it could be acne type spots , but its difficult to know without seeing it. I don't think it is necessarily to do with the HRT. if its really bad , your GP may be able to give you cream to help. Unfortunately these things can spring up unexpectedly , sometimes with no explanation.
Don't be embarrassed as its more common than you think , except people don't tend to talk about it.
