Quick question re Gynest Cream
« on: May 15, 2015, 04:09:09 PM »

Just a quick question , mainly to stop me worrying over the weekend!

I have just finished my two weeks
loading of Gynest cream and I must say its improved my bladder problems considerable already, huge relief. However, I have got significant breast tenderness is this normal? I didn't think there was enough oestrogen in the cream to affect other areas!

Thanks in advance

It is listed as a side-effect westie, so I wouldn't worry! I have noticed a bit of an increase, so to speak.

Thanks Jenna very reassuring.

Yes definitely an increase as you say, will it die down now that I'm starting the twice a week dose?

I would say the tenderness will disappear in time (unfortunately, I can't remember how long it took for mine to calm down), but not the increase!

I am pleased to hear that the Estriol cream has helped you. :)

Ha! That's good news Jenna regarding the increase, being a small chested girl it us definitely a bonus!!

Yes I am really pleased with the way it's helping, I feel so much better too, far more energy, made me realise how by bladder problems were getting me down.

Onwards and upwards ( hopefully!).

Thanks again

Hi westie

If you had vaginal atrophy and therefore thin vaginal tissues before you started the estriol cream, then during the two weeks loading period there would be some (a little) systemic absorption of the estriol, and this should diminish as your  (vaginal) tissues become plumped up from the effects of the local oestrogen. As Jenna says this is a possible side effects and there are oestrogen receptors in the breast. Estriol binds strongly to oestrogen beta receptors (which occur in the breast) and weakly to alpha receptors which are also found there.

Hope the tenderness settles soon!

Thank you for explaining Hurdity, that does seem to make sense.

Hopefully the tenderness will start to subside now I am on a lower dose.
