if you dont have left overs what do you put in your bubble and squeak ? i love it but never think to keep left over veg, is it just potatoes and cabbage ?

Usually though I've known Mum to throw in sprouts too …….. stir fried quickly so that it burns on the bottom: what time's tea

i used to do it with all the veg parsnips carrots everything, but now theres just the 2 of us and other half doesnt eat much veg i only cook enough for me, will have to start and do extra

Oh heck, not sprouts ....cabbage yes but I hate the smell of sprouts.
I some times do it with bacon and eggs....yummy. I like champ potatoes too...good way to use up mash.

I was raised earing bubble and squeak , potatoes and cabbage, but my friend chucks everything in and it is nice (it's her Boxing Day dinner so left over veg from Xmas day)

Think my mum used to chuck in any leftover roast beef too. Champ potatoes. We called them champit tatties.
