Dads side Limpy.

Grandfather on mothers side was a dour Scotsman who said about half a dozen words to me in my life. And I wonder where my mother gets her awkwardness from  ;D

Ah - your French grandad being on your dads side might be the reason HB.
I've been told many genetic tendencies are transmitted down the maternal line - via the mitochondrial DNA.

I rub a little argan oil through it at nighttime and it looks fine in morning, with no oil on it looks a bit wild old womanish,

Ha ha this made me smile, can totally relate - my hair is naturally curly so I keep it short - but in the morning I look like a hedgehog - can't always be bothered to wash it every day so end up spraying it with water to make it lie down.  Makes me think of my grandmother and her hair nets - she used to use two - double bagged as she put it - to keep her hair "just so".  Perhaps hairnets are the answer  :o

Hairnets!  ;D   You got those fine hairnets which my grandmother wore or the heavy duty string vest type ones. My mum wore the latter every night.  I can imagine hubby's face if I wore one of those to bed.  ;D
