Healthy eating.
« on: March 15, 2015, 03:56:44 PM »

Hi everyone,

My son has just introduced me to this website, after a discussion about how many eggs you can eat.
Looks very interesting with lots of information on food and food myths.

Will try to be good after the Mothers day chocs are gone :-\

Will look into the link later but agree with the choccies. ;D
After doing slimming world and keeping to a healthy eating plan I promised myself, that today,
I would eat lots of choccies while watching a movie and chilling out.
My daughter made me a mug cake too!
Hope you're having a lovely Mother's Day rosebud57.

A mug cake is a cake made and cooked in a mug in the microwave. Takes only a few minutes.
Google it toffeecushion. They are delicious. Eat them straight out of the microwave or cool and put buttercream on top, whatever you like.
I prefer to eat them straight away as they are at their moistess( is that a word? :-\) when hot.
I think you can now get cookery books on mugcakes.

DH is trying to alter the way I eat - less eclairs, rather more 'healthy' fruit bars ……… more 'raw' fruit, i.e. bananas, pears (yuk), prunes ……….

I have been trying to cut down of sugar, for about 10 days now.

Cheated on Sunday evening and had some apple tart.  This resulted in a massive sugar rush and I could not get to sleep until gone 3am.  Could now be 'trapped' on a low sugar diet.

Beware the 'healthy fruit bars' CLKD, they are usually packed with sugar. :o

I've recently become quite obsessive about cutting down sugar and have been surprised at how often it's lurking in foods, particularly those that are often labelled as a healthy alternative. I've felt so much better for cutting out the sugar, although that has come hand in hand with cutting out a lot of nasties and stripping right back to a diet laden in fruit and veg  so it's probably contributory rather than the whole shabang.

Good link at the top by the way, yet another website to distract me into procrastination.  :)
