Severe Early Menopause
« on: February 24, 2015, 04:01:21 PM »

Hi. I'm 47 & a new member. I have had early menopause since I was 42. Still getting awful hot flushes, mood swings, loss of lobido & weight gain. Can't have HRT due to familial cancer. My GP suggested this website. Can anyone help please??

Hi there and  :welcomemm:

Did your GP suggest any alternatives at all? Either herbal or prescribed.

Hello Ruby. I have just been told I am in menopause aged 44 and new to all this, but am learning as I go.  Yes, has the GP suggested alternatives?  If you look on the 'HOME' page there are some tabs to direct you to alternative treatments and therapies.

Have you tried adjusting diet, exercise?  There are some vitamins and supplements that might help support your overall health as well.

Hello, how reassuring to read your post.  I too am new to this site and have started the menopause, I'm 45.  My brain fog experience is not nice and I'm feeling under the weather a lot of the time.  No one I know seems to experience 'porridge brain' like I do.  It's good to be able to talk about it  :)

Some of the antidepressants have been approved for hot flashes. I will say I used gabapentin which helped considerably with some of my symptoms, particularly the anxiety and pain.
