They can't answer questions with a straight yes/no
..
I came across a brilliant quote in a Just William book once. Talking about William, it said something like "he disliked answering questions, he disliked being tied down to facts...as a politician, a great future lay before him". So nothing much has changed in politics since then!
Re: the bus, I find it really offensive because the implication is that women are too dim to take an interest in anything unless it's made to look 'pretty'. I have the same feeling about pink (and impractical) gardening tools...oh, it doesn't matter that they are flimsy and not up to the job, they are pink so women will love them. GRRRRR!
I am thinking I will vote for the first person who will tell me what they
will do rather than what the opposition
won't do. Last election, I nearly went mad, trying to get the various candidates to talk about their manifesto. Conversations with any party went something like this:
"don't vote for the others, they will ruin the NHS with budget cuts".
"Yes, but what will YOU do if you are elected?"
"If you vote for X, Y or Z, poverty and unemployment will increase..."
"Never mind that; what will YOU do"
"Do you realise that if X win the election..." etc, etc, etc. Zzzzzzzzzzzz!
