Hi Ladies
« on: February 09, 2015, 12:01:40 PM »

Hi, another new member here, although have been lurking for a while.
I am 43 and am in peri, have tried herbal, clonidine, fluoxetine, for the night sweats, insomnia and crippling anxiety. Was given trisequens but had to stop due to higher than normal family history of stroke and increase in migraines, have put on my first evorel patch today and really hoping this HRT will help me feel something like " normal" again.  :-\

Hi and  :welcomemm: PurpleOwl.

I just started my first patch last week too.

I've had rampaging anxiety - mostly health related (the one that makes you think every little ache and pain is a sign of imminent catastrophe) and had counselling for it. Like everyone, I had good days and not so good days and just have to be extra kind to myself on those days... they do pass.

I'm hoping for a little more normality too .... in fact I'd settle for better on it than off it  :)

Hi Galadriel, thanks for the warm welcome  :), I totally know what you mean about the anxiety as I also ended up in counselling felt like I was having some sort of breakdown. You are so right  we all need to learn to be kinder to ourselves when we are having bad days, and after browsing this site it seems anxiety issues are very common for a lot of Ladies ?  Have you noticed any improvement with the patch yet ? I know it's early days but fingers crossed they work for you.

Hi PurpleOwl,

I'm 45 and pretty certain I'm in peri, but my GP won't entertain it and puts all my symptoms down to "anxiety".
I have started suffering from tachycardia/palpitations, insomnia, anxiety, mood swings, low blood sugar, irregular cycles, spots, dry hair and skin...you name it!
At the end of last year, I actually thought I was going mad and just didn't feel like myself at all.
The anxiety, fatigue and complete lack of any kind of enthusiasm to do anything are really hard to cope with.
I'm seeing a specialist found via this site next month, in the hope that HRT might help.

Hi PurpleOwl

 :welcomemm:

I do hope you find that Evorel works for you - presumably you have Evorel sequi - the type that usually gives a monthly withdrawal bleed? Night sweats are deadly for making you exhausted through lack of sleep.

I went onto HRT in late peri-menopause just under age 54 and haven't looked back!

Hi CLKD, thanks will do lol I love a good browse, honorsmum I feel so sorry for you I had similar with GP for about 18 months before diagnosis, banging head against a brick wall ? but hopefully the specialist will be able to get you sorted. Hurdity, yes it's the sequi type, have never been so exhausted in my life as I am with these silly sweats after GP said HRT was prob the only chance of reducing them I looked at the many positive posts on the forum and realised if I want any sort of normality back then HRT had to be worth a try.
