I had a brilliant childhood and upbringing so can't understand where my anxiety comes from. I was given lots of loving and good boundaries but not really strict ones. My mum and dad both made me feel that I was the best thing that had ever happened to them but I still grew up with little self esteem and confidence - well on the inside anyway. Counselling has suggested that my sort of upbringing sets you up to expect an easy dreamworld type of life. It seems to me that as parents you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Great thread by the way.

How's this for lateral thinking? Start a new thread in private lives called letting go part 2 .

Emma is the only person who can move this actual thread to a different section. I'm sure she would if you contact her.
