Restless legs
« on: October 20, 2014, 03:14:36 PM »

Not a new topic I know, and probably not a menopause issue but... I'm having massive problems with this (actually it's only one leg, my left) and sleeping really badly. It got worse when I came off citalopram a year ago, went away for a couple of months about 6 weeks after I started HRT in March, but has come back to haunt me nightly. I'm wondering if it's an irritated nerve in my back or something because common sense tells me that the other reasons given for restless legs (eg dopamine levels wrong/ iron deficiency/ shortage of magnesium, etc) would cause the feelings to be in BOTH legs not one. Why would something systemic affect ONE leg? Any suggestions very gratefully accepted!

Hi Freda - apparently RLS can affect one leg only http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/rls/signs.html

I guess you  may have already seen this website but just in case you haven't http://www.helpguide.org/articles/sleep/restless-leg-syndrome-rls.htm
