smoking and oestrogen
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:45:58 PM »

Hi

I 'smoke' e-cigarettes with the odd skinny roll-up cigarette.

I heard that smoking can lower oestrogen and worsen meno symptoms.
Is it the nicotine that lowers oestrogen or the chemicals associated with proper cigarette smoking?

thanks

I suggest that you visit a pharmacy and ask to speak to the pharmacist .......... then let us know  ;)

Hi CKLD

I've got to go out today, so if there is time left I will nip in Boots and ask them, if not I will ask monday and let you all know.
I've got a funny feeling they won't know, but I will ask them anyway.
thanks.

Ask a Pharmacist though!

I agree Stellajane - fortunately I never smoked.

Hi Ladies

I did ask the pharmacist and he said that nicotine reduces oestrogens.
I have all but stopped smoking but I still use the e-cigarettes.
Hope this is of some help.
