Our car - would you have?
« on: September 15, 2014, 02:48:42 PM »

It's sorted now but interestingly most of the Estate knew it had been bumped before we did: 'cos we were still curled up under the leccy blanket. ;D

However: a neighbour did stop and ask if he should tell me that the car had been bumped, he didn't want to cause upset in the street but having seen it happen  :-\.  I said that he should always mention such issues, that we weren't particularly bothered as the person had 'owned up' and no-one had been injured.

He seemed quite embarrassed to be telling me about the incident but I would rather someone say rather than worry about the issue.  We were pleased that a) the person who bumped didn't knock us up at 7.30 a.m. and b) that she admitted later that day  ;)

Would you tell if you were a witness or keep quiet?

My daughter bumped a neighbours car years ago. She fessed up! I would too.

I always confess my sins.  I would probably have approached the person who bumped the other vehicle rather than the owner of the affected car.

I would confess if I had bumped another car.

However if I saw a neighbour doing it then I would keep my nose firmly out.

I reckon it depends on where you live as to whether you approach someone you see doing something wrong. Where I live it's ok (usually)  but in the city it's not so good.
