My Mum & Dad
« on: September 04, 2014, 06:50:19 AM »

Would like to share that my Mum & Dad are celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary today...my Mum was 17 when she married Dad...they suffered a still born baby at the beginning of their marriage & went on to have 6 children 20 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren!!! They have had ups & downs. They were sad when i moved abroad with my family and when my brother to moved to NZ.  Mum suffered terrible during the menopause and Dad was great ( fantastic seeing as its a different generation) . And both have suffered the loss of lots of friends & family  The worst of which was my brother dying at the age of 42 & then their great granddaughter being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2 ( who is still fighting) but they still laugh, hold hands in bed, & love each other with a passion!!!! 💖💐

Oldsheep my husband is half Italian, we moved here 8 years ago so my daughthers could spend time with their Nonno who had been diagnosed with prostate cancer!! Unfortunately he died 2 years ago!!! We have a good life here! Apart from missing family desperately i also bacame a Nan this year (i have 2 older children from my 1st marriage) so my daughters are fluent as is my husband, me not so much 😞

My Nonna was Italian, love Italy.

My OH is fluent in Italian, we met at an Italian Circolo run by our Italian Teacher, I speak it but not fluently but always got by when I was in Italy.

Your post was heart warming Italianmumma  :)
