Well I can only swim 2 lengths before I run out of breathe so I am very impressed , however small or big the pool is!!
Moreso that you overcame your worry about your size - that is a huge hurdle for me
Keep up the good work! x x

Brilliant! Well done. Hope you can find a quieter time too as it's even more relaxing just mooching along thinking about nothing in particular and not fussing about lane etiquette.

Hey Groundhog - I was thinking about you today.

Went swimming, there was a young woman who'd come with her parents.
She was very careful to wrap a towel around herself before going to the pool. She was less than 30 with a smashing figure. I remembered your concerns, it seems you are not alone.

quite a few swimmers (women) wear rash vests and swim shorts too. No-one bats an eyelid whatever though (as long as you have something on  ;D).
Have fun x

I quite like the idea of swimshorts, but whats a rash vest oldsheep?

Has anyone purchased these recently? Not sure where to look for them

I assume a swimming hat is a necessity these days, with health & safety and all that?

I am doing my best to pluck up the courage! PN x x

Rash vests are often used by surfers. They got their name because they protect you from rashes and abrasions caused by contact with sand and shingle. Surfers often wear them under their wetsuits too as they make it easier to pull the wetsuit on and off.  Lots of people wear them now as part of their swim wear. If you google it you will find loads of stores selling them.

Swimming hats are not necessary in our local pool

Re hats - Not compulsory at the one I go to.
Some women do wear them, having been ordered to do so by their hairdressers.
