Well I always said I wouldn't do it again....but
« on: August 28, 2014, 06:08:40 PM »

My niece has announced a wedding that is to take place in three months. It's being done on a shoe string budget with a registry office ceremony and then a party at night.
Nothing in between. It seemed a bit of a let down day to me so I have suggested a reception at my sister's house and i will do the catering.

Said I would never do this kind of thing again, in fact I swore to my hubby that my last one was just that.

It's only an offer at this point but I suspect it will be accepted. Really hope I have done the right thing and won't live to regret this.

What a wonderful thing to do honeyb! You'll get through it - it may be tough with your anxiety issues and all the other commitments you have but I just know that your niece will have the best reception ever!!

Thanks Taz. Actually when I am really busy I forget to be anxious. That sound daft but it's true.

I am sitting here thinking about champagne and strawberries. Smoked salmon and caviar blinis and heart shaped sandwiches. Any suggestions welcome for good finger food.
Not done this for a while but quite looking forward to it. Last thing I did was a christening. Wish I could find my notes  ::)

What a great gesture Honeyb. I'm sure you won't regret it. Your niece must be so pleased.
Neighbour made a lovely mackerel pâté with cream cheese for a party they had for her retirement. Amazing how many crisps people eat too.
Good for you anyhow!

Wow Honeyb really impressed.
How about little pizzas or frittatas?
Tasty but not lots of last minute attention.
Also OS, is right people will get through lots of crisps, nuts, bombay mix type of things

This is your Gift to them ? November/December? Is there a coloured theme …….

Sausage rolls; sausages on sticks; celery, with cream cheese spread along; slices of pizza; mixed salads.  Is someone making The Cake?

Serviettes.  Candles.  Table centre pieces. There are some lovely fake flowers these days that look real.

Could someone else provide the fizz as part of the 'do'?
