Patches or Pills?
« on: July 26, 2014, 10:21:20 PM »

I really can't make up my mind  :'(

I've tried the pills and now I'm trying the patches.

Which do you prefer? and Why?

I think this a very individual thing. I have used both - on and off. Currently I'm back on estradiol tablets because for some reason I felt the patches had stopped working. I don't know if it's because there is something wrong with the patches or for some reason I have stopped absorbing them properly. I'll try the patches again in a few months, as I do actually prefer them because you don't have to remember to take a tablet every day, but if I can't use them, I can't use them.

I'm just happy to use whatever works these days. I used to be very militant about trying to only take "bioidentical/natural" stuff, but in the real world that doesn't always work. Utrogestan became a real pain in the arse for me, and I'm now using medroxyprogesterone tablets which (currently) I'm a lot happier with. Go with whatever you feel happiest with.

If you have digestive issues, you may not consistently absorb the tablet form. I have been prescribed estradiol 25 mcg patches and kliovance  1mg/0.5mg tablets.
