Pets too  :'( - but having read a letter in this morning's Telegraph it would seem that none would have suffered as decompression means instant death.  It's those clearing up that have the initial difficulties  :-\ ……… who ever or for what ever reason, these types of 'get back' situations should be stopped.

The looting ext..

"Reports of looting of valuables such as credit cards and cash from victims' bodies and luggage were "gaining currency"

I don't want to say too much as we are not suppose to get political

Politics aside..The blame lies with Russia.....who else supplied the weapons.

So very sad, and the dead are not being given the respects they deserve.

The plane may have been shot down because it was mistaken for something else but this is an atrocity.

they really should look at not overflying any war zones. Having said that, apparently there were at least 2 other planes quite near by at the time as they'd reportedly been routed there by ATC.
These 'war mistakes' with terrible consequences happen (and I hear these missiles can reach twice that height). Remember when an American navy idiot shot down the Iranian civilian airliner? Lead to Lockerbie and a lot more.

What is revolting is the way that the local authorities (rebels, Russians, whoever) are responding. There's denial, cover up and a total lack of respect.

In a war zone respect soon turns to survival ……….. it's sad for all concerned and I don't think we will ever know the truth.  Is there a connection between the 2 flights?

don't think so. It seems the plane was mistaken for a Ukrainian military plane.

I read the 'mistaken' bit too  :-X …………. someone's stirring then ……….. <sigh>  and the West keeps trying to suggest to Putin what he ought to be doing in response but if he doesn't ……….
