Almonds...Going Nuts!
«

I love my nuts and was told that almonds are one of the healthiest and can help to lower cholesterol etc so I have been popping a few handfuls per day and then today I read an article on top 10 poisonous foods and lo and behold, they mention almonds and cashews and high levels of cyanide poisoning.
For those nut lovers what is your take on this, cos I really have been enjoying them...

I have eaten almonds everyday for years I am still here and I would say healthy, some say you should soak almonds in water overnight before eating but I never have.

I wouldn't bother too much Cassie just continue eating and enjoying almonds.

If nuts were going to be a problem they wouldn't be sold
Brazil nuts are very good for us. Has anyone seen a whole Brazil nut shell?
We use almonds on the top of Dundee cakes ……. soaked so that the skins can be removed

I like almond and brazils, like everyone else here I thought they were good for us. I buy the organic ones from holland and barratt.
I also really like almond nut butter on oatcakes, good for keeping blood sugar steady

If worried, have a chat with a Pharmacist in a chemist (LLoyds/Boots) who will know exactly where there is a danger from arsenic ……….
