Evorel 50 query
« on: May 08, 2014, 03:20:21 PM »

I have just started the Evorel 50 patches, two a week. I have the Mirena fitted too.   I was diagnosed through my symptoms as peri menopause I am 43 so it's a little early.  I started the patches two weeks ago because of out of character low mood and pms symptoms.  For the past week I have been feeling an off and on a mild burning sensation around where my left ovary should be which is something I have not felt before. It comes and goes all day.  Do you have any advice... Could this be side effect of the estrogen that should settle down.   I do not see my doctor again for 6 weeks to discuss how I feel taking the estrogen.   I can go back any time but do not want to unless necessary.

Hi TraceyTracey

Just wanted to say  :welcomemm:

I haven't come across that sensation so sorry I can't help with that. All I can say is that it does take a while for your body to acclimatise to the extra oestrogen - and you have only been on the patches for 6 weeks, but if the feeling persists and becomes painful then perhpas a phone call or brief visit to your doctor would be in order. If you have to go back sooner, then hopefully your doc is a menopause specialist or you can go to someone in the practice who is?

Thank you... I will wait for a while.. It's not unbearable. I have been on the patches two weeks tomorrow... And I do feel a little better mood wise.... But I have been off work this week and having no work stress does help....  :)

I think CLKD probably meant if you don't feel things are right it's never too soon to go back instead of waiting your six weeks.

Hope things settle for you soon.
