Weird itching - raised moles?!
« on: April 13, 2014, 05:37:11 PM »

I believe I am peri menopausal.
My periods have been non existent for 6 months. I then had 2 close together, heavy bleeds and now nothing again!
My FSH was high, then retested as normal.
I wanted to ask about itching!
I seem to be itchy all over a lot of the time.
Evening is definitely worse and my arms in particular.
When I look at where I'm itching it always seems to be around moles (or beauty spots as my OH calls them!). They also appear raised. I'm covered in moles - always have been, so they're nothing new! But just wondered if itchiness was a normal peri sympton?
Thanks all xxx

Yep, it began for me with my insteps - OK all day but once in the bath and in the night I would wake with one heel scratching the instep of the other foot.  Also DH often scratched my back gently again after a bath.  Probably a drop in oestrogen levels.

If you are concerned about 'spots' itching do get your GP to have a look-see for reassurance.

It's my back that itches. My skin has become very dry and now I get hubby to rub in some moisturiser it's not so bad. He even bought me a dry body brush probably because he was fed up scratching my back. I also now take fish oil supplements and I think that also helps quite a bit.

Pure coconut oil is fab for dry skin.
