So how does that work then  :-\

We are all told to recycle; to change our vehicles to use less fossil fuels; to not buy wood burners ....... then people are queuing up to watch The Flying Scotsman. Now forgive me, but ain't she a STEAM train  :o using coal and putting out who-knows-what in that smoke  :diablo:

And we were all told to buy diesel cars as they were good for the environment and now they are considered to be the work of the devil as far as pollution is concerned.

That's because the manufacturers lied about the emissions though. I've just been listening on the radio to a piece about the 30 degree heatwave in Alaska. 😢

Is that what triggered the earth-quake in the US?

We bought diesel on the back of the government of the day encouraging buyers  >:(.  We also have a wood burner, well apparently we won't be allowed to buy coal by 2021 or burn any coal-like substance either in open hearth or wood burners.  Instead of the Government making it illegal for small shops and garage forecourts to sell kindling that hasn't been dried, which is where the emissions stem from   >:(

Buying home-made charcoal is a must, why does the Government allow that to be imported.  :-\   BarBQs will be outlawed too [hopefully].  FUMES! ++

It wasn't exactly that Taz.  Diesel was encouraged by the government because it produces much lower CO2 omissions than petrol.  However it also produces higher particulates than petrol.  It's this that the car companies cheated on with deliberately altered parts which gave false readings.

It's a choice between CO2 or particulates.

...... and ..........  :-\.  Pollution has been a problem since God was a Lass, thinking back to the times of the Factories and Mills.  Clean Air Act got rid of black spot on roses ....... I suppose when this global problem arrived last time there weren't humans around?

Electric cars are, supposedly, silent hence the need to fit alarms  ::) - that will help the deaf or blind how?

I don't think we need worry about what will happen  ;) there are more pressing issues happening now .

How would you spend your last 10 mins.  ;D we lived with the worry about the Bomb going off.  So lived Life to the full.  As much as parents would allow us during the 1950s/60s   :D

I would eat roast beef, gravy and Yorkshire puds  8)
