First day of spring!!
«

I was going to do this tomorrow, being the 21st March but just found out (looking at Google) that the astronomical vernal equinox is actually today this year - although it doesn't feel like it here with howling gales and cold rain! Had to mark the occasion anyway before I rush out to work and the daylight has gone!

Spring had sprung all around us here, until today - all the daffs and blossom have been battered by the wind
It's lovely to have more light though - we get fabulous skies in early evening here in Suffolk.

I have picked several daffs which have snapped in the wind. But everything is coming up, something new each day!

Plants etc have sprung to life earlier this year. Everything was very bare last year because of the bad snow and didn't really flourish until about May up here.

Our magnolia tree is springing into life too much earlier than last year...new buds opening every day. Neighbours garden toad is making a racket so guess spring has arrived.

Don't panic Taz - I've heard tell a cold snap is on the way........
How come you don't live further north, given your preference for cold and dark?
Ooops - sorry, forgot the shorter nights up north in summer

On a good day, gloaming can remain all through the night.

Limpy - I should be a nomad and move around avoiding the sun and light!!!
I'm getting used to the lighter mornings now - it's a gradual thing!
