Lumpy Throat
« on: March 18, 2014, 04:48:44 PM »

Just wondered - been suffering with massive anxiety from meno symptoms, basically thought I had everything going. Now I have a feeling of a lumpy throat, not all the time just at times during the day, apparently anxiety can cause this, has anyone else experienced similar  :o x

Yes I do when I am stressed. When I first got it I got in a real old state and really thought I had something drastic wrong with me. I went to my GP who assured me that if food slipped down easily, which it did, then I did not have an obstruction. I got things into perspective and now when I get it I just try to relax and ignore it.

It's really not nice so I truly sympathise but it's a classic stress symptom.

Are you choking at all when eating/drinking?  Do you cough as if clearing your throat …….. I dribble at night when laying down, in fact, I probably dribble most of the while as my lips are sore at the edges …….. stress can cause our bodies to tense up and we are very aware of our mouth, throat etc..

If you have hacks at the corners of your mouth it can be a type of thrush.

It's 'cos I dribble  ;)

Twinkle - it seems like stress related issues.

When it happens to me and my jaws get so tight I make myself sing or just la la la to relax the muscles, I get some funny looks though....
Usually all happens when I get morbid thoughts too !!!!
