ovarian aches
« on: March 04, 2014, 04:49:09 PM »

Some varied questions - anyone have or heard of the same?

Do others get ovarian aches, probably because reduced hormones?
Do others get VERY tired?
Do others get achy bones?
Do others get upset 'guts', varying from constipation to normal?

Sorry, lots of questions, but I want to know if I am not alone.

10 years after my hysterectomy I had ovarian pain, they'd been left in. Turns out it was adhesions. Very painful. Got them removed.

Tiredness yes, due to lack of decent night's sleep.

Aches, yes anywhere & everywhere.

Guts, yes, but I now have a lactose intolerance which messes mine up.

You are not alone. Many of us the same.

Hi Silver,

Haven't had a period now for 19 months and still get left handed ovary pain and cramps,

The insomnia has got worse as I waken up with night sweats and then cant get back to sleep.

Joint pains, yes to that too.

I had an episode of reflux the other week....hideous as my mum and sister are both on meds for hiatus hernias, another lovely symptom.

I do, but I've convinced myself its something nasty going on.  Been worrying myself silly this week, worry is probably just another symptom though

Thank you all - think I'm normal, but when you work in a GP surgery, you can self-diagnose which is dangerous !! so it's good to get opinions from normal people.

silver- if you feel worried and have a range of symptoms, go onto the Ovacome website.
http://www.ovacome.org.uk/beat-ovarian-cancer-with-ovacome.aspx

I am sure you are fine, but abdo pain and problems with your guts could be something more serious so you might want to be checked out- have you had a pelvic scan at all recently?
For what it's worth, no, I don't get any of the symptoms you mention. But my friends who are not on HRT often get joint pains and aches and pains.

Don't want to be scaremongering but if you have changes to your bowel habits that last longer than 6 weeks, the advice is to see your dr, especially if you  are older than 50. It's easy to attribute certain changes to hormones, but sadly both ovarian and bowel cancer are often diagnosed late-stage, so any abdo symptoms inc pain should be recorded and maybe investigated if they are there often enough to make you think about them- if that makes sense. If you are not ovulating any more than you should not be having ovarian pain.
