Hiya
First post but have found this site extremely helpful. This may take some time!
I will be 50 this year and have suffered various symptoms for some time, although not realising that any of them were linked to peri.
Here is a list:
Thinking I had MS due to tingling limbs, pins and needles (Tests were negative)
Thinking I had a heart problem due to palpitations (Tests were negative)
Thinking I had Celiaec Disease due to bowel problems, mouth ulcers, etc (Tests were negative)
I do suffer from anxiety and sometimes agraphobia in open spaces (feeling that everything around me is spinning)
Have suffered terrible panic attacks, although it wasn't for a while until I actually realised they were panic attacks and not the onset of death!
I get a really strange spacey feeling at times when I go out, get the shakes, weak legs and feel I could faint. This is often worse in the morning or when I first go out. (It usually gets better the longer I am out, although sometimes If it's really bad can lead to a panic attack and the sweats.)
I am now getting hot flushes, not as much sweats, but they usually happen at night.
Periods are haywire. Mostly long bleeds, lasting two weeks or more. Missed one a couple of months ago when the flushes were worst. Have recently had internal scan and cervical smear and all is well. (one small fibroid which doc said would cause little problem) Was offered Noritheristone which I was slightly apprehesive of taking on a long term basis (used them for hols before), but then I had the missed month, so have decided to wait a bit.
Mood swings (slamming doors, shouting, generally going mad for silly things. Poor hubby.)
Now comes the new symptoms. It's really hard to decide if they are peri linked or not.
Firstly, for the past few months on and off, although mostly on, is the sensation of butterflies in my stomach. The feeling you would get before you sit your driving test, for example. But I'm not nervous. I went to docs who prescribed me IBS treatment, but it hasn't worked. I now have really bad indigestion and a rumbling stomach almost constant too.
Secondly, and this is really odd, and occurs, probably around the time of a period, is a strange sensation in the vagina area! Almost the feeling I could orgasm! Not the best when your in the local supermarket. I also feel slightly off down there when I wipe myself after the loo.
I know this is a long read and I hope I've not bored you, but just looking for a bit insight into any of this.
I've probably missed something as I'm also becoming so forgetful!
Thanks
