Linda Barker and the Menopause
« on: February 16, 2014, 01:09:03 PM »

I read this article and my heart sank a little http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/459743/Linda-Barker-on-how-menopause-made-her-life-better

Although I can see that it is good to take care of ourselves and eat correctly etc. not all of us can overcome the  night sweats and other symptoms by more exercise and healthy eating and, at 52, she has a lot more menopausal years to go through. Sad not to have a bit more info. It seems to be an advert for Stratum C.

She's found something which works for her, for now that is.  In an ideal world, none of us would want to pop pills or use other forms of HRT, however some ladies have a much harder time it. Good luck to her.  ;)

It's good she's found something that works for her, and she is publicising menopause issues.
However, it does look very like an advert for Stratum C.

Yep- it's not far short of an advert is it? I suspect LB is being paid a pretty penny for the piece from the people who make it.

I also think it's wrong that her GP's opinion on HRT is being publicised as if it's the only opinion ( and correct one) on the menopause and HRT. Many consultants would disagree with her - but the feature doesn't give the other side of the story. And after 3 months on HRT she'd be only just feeling the benefits anyway.

Gee thanks, can't wait  ::)

Guess you really don't think of that, it's just what's happening at the time. I really don't like to look ahead too much in any part of my life. Just live for today other wise I just get anxious.

Sorry - I didn't mean it to sound like that. I just remember that at 53 I was still quite vibrant and happy and energetic and men didn't ignore me!

If she has found out what works for her then lucky her, some of us aren't so lucky; and those who have to cope with symptoms and hold down a job,  well hats off to you and take a bow ladies  :ola:

The entire article is an advert for a FACE CREAM! Stratum C is a face cream @ £85 a pot. It's not a supplement or anything to help menopausal symptoms. If you look at their website, LB is the 'celeb' face of the product. The whole feature is a promotion.

Agreed Sarah - I think that's what I said  "It seems to be an advert for Stratum C."
