Can VA just burn in one place?
« on: February 15, 2014, 04:36:37 PM »

Carry on from my earlier post can VA just REALLY  burn in one place inside the vagina. My main area appears to be about an inch inside the vagina on the left hand side, it almost feels like I have a deep ulcer type pain, paracetamol  are not touching the pain. Lying  down, sitting makes no difference. The pain also goes up my clitoris on the left hand side to, but that is not a burn more of a deep ache. I have barely slept for 24 hours. I feel really mentally black at the moment to, having a very heavy period I don't even feel capable of making a cup of tea.

I had a very tender spot high up for years, eased with KY jelly but eventually only Gynest pessaries help.  If you are bleeding heavily maybe ask your GP for something to stop it?

Have you got someone to look after you today a bit?

Did you have this pain before using Ovestin?

It might not be VA but might be a sore area that you have jabbed with the applicator, or even  just the cream 'sitting' in one area.
If you can bear it when you feel better and the bleeding has stopped maybe a gentle look by your dr or a specialist might help?

Or- is it linked to your period? Is it there usually or just now?

Thank you for replying. I am under a specialist uro/gynae that I saw two weeks ago she specialises in meno as well. Yes the pain is much, much worse since using the cream the first four days where ok but the last two it has slowly got worse.

It is not where the applicator touches,it feels like when you burn yourself on the oven and you put it under the cold tap, and then take it away and it really starts to burn that's how it feels.

I have a front wall vaginal prolapse that she feels is rubbing and making me sore, she did say that it can burn some ladies and to try and stick with it, and can take six to twelve months to start to work. She also said we keep trying until we find something to help, I am also  anaemic which is probably making me feel worse ( regards my emotions)my reserves are 9 so I will be on two pills a day, in America apparently you can have the oestrogen compounded without the fillers?

Do you think Vagifem is better re reactions, I just have a niggle that it feels like something under the surface, as I have a heavy period and when I put "yes" on the area inside it doesn't soothe it.

When my husband put his finger in my vagina, he said he could feel that it felt different in the area  i complained about almost smooth and slightly raised. I asked him to as you can feel more without gloves on. He said he could feel that was the painful area before I complained. I have never been on anti depressants in my life, but wonder if these would help me see the woods for the trees.

ADs can help but can also take 2-3 weeks before they 'kick in'.  When do you go back to your Doctor?

I honestly think you should give yourself a break from the cream for 2-3 days then try again.

Sometimes with all these things it's a case of trial and error- what suits one person won't suit another, no matter what is says on the 'instructions' for a product.

Have you been offered surgery for your prolapse? Is this an option? Is it something you'd think about sometime?

My Gp I can see anytime he suggested counselling as an option, and he said to think about Ads for a month and see if I still want them.

I paid private to see the gynae as last year I went to see another gynae with all the symptoms I have now but milder, he said I didn't have a prolpase I have three, I didn't have LS which I most definitely do and I didn't have VA I just looked sore and dry and tight and when he examined me I hit the roof. Just told me to use dilators and keep having sex, I percificaly asked him if he thought I had VA and he said no this has nothing to do with meno, I have vaginism.

So I found this lady in my next town and she is transferring me onto her NHS list! but I am tempted to pay and go and see her again next week. She teaches prolapse surgery to other surgeons, and she never uses mesh but I went in saying surgery wasn't something I wanted, but will possibly discuss it with her although the VA and LS would have to be under control first. Wish I could stop crying. Thank you it does help.
