pessary dose?
« on: February 11, 2014, 04:58:25 PM »

Hi does anyone know?  Please. Are Gynest Estriol pessaries a stronger dose then Gynest Estriol cream?
because the pessaries seem to work but the cream doesn't seem to work as well.
Thank you.
 :)

Maybe you can't get the cream 'up' as high as the pessaries go?

Possibly, but I was using the creams applicator maybe it's a weaker dose.
I was disappointed as for myself I prefer using the cream.

Thanks. :)

Ask a Pharmacist if there is a difference?

Hi roseclimber

1 dose (full applicator) of gynest cream and 1 orthogynest pessary each deliver 0.5 mg estriol so they are exactly the same in that respect.

However it may be that the cream leaks out more easily whereas the pessaries are waxy and maybe stay in position a bit better? Hence the difference. I use the pessaries, but when stocks evetually run out will have to use the cream (and the inconvenient applicator!) or Vagifem

Hi Hurdity.
yes that could be the reason.
It's a right old nusience if the pessaries are discontinued :(
