Vaginal cysts
« on: February 05, 2014, 11:04:58 AM »

Since I started the MP 12 years ago I have developed 2-3 small, pea size vaginal cysts. They only hurt when pinched but I have become very conscious of their presence! I need to get examined at the surgery and am happy to have them removed under local anaesthetic if necessary. Have any other members experienced this meno joy??  :o

Are they in your vagina, at the entrance or on your inner/outer labia?

They sound more like blocked sebacious glands. Bartholin's glands can get blocked and they can become very large if untreated,  when they need lancing and sometimes antibiotics afterwards.

There are plenty of images on Bartholin cysts if you google!

I have had a little lump which was either a bartholins cyst, or from the vaginal surgery I had.  It was bothering me when I had vaginitis symptoms but went with vagifem.

From the pics online it seems they are Bartholin's gland ducts that are enlarged. I will book an appointment and see how things go. Thank you ladies....as ever a great source of info!  8)
