Wimbledon idiosyncrasies

Nadal is the bees knees. Between his rigmarole before playing a shot, pulling his knickers out his bum, the nose/ear thing. To add to that he has to have his water/juice bottles facing a set way & he has to have a towel in each corner of his court. He also bounces ball 7 times whilst doing his "thing", then bounces it a further 3 times. I get quite agitated watching him. No doubt he's a good player though.
Does anyone else get agitated watching him, or others? Maybe I'm odd.

I don't watch tennis but was interested in this so did a Google and this is what came up

I'll have to watch him now!

Can't abide tennis. At least the 'white only' rule has been re-instated. All that grunting, knocking, foibles …….. give me Cavvie any day

Very interesting Taz. Sure there are others who have their routines, just not quite as obvious as Nadal's. Guess we will probably never find out if he is OCD off court too.
Not sure why they have to be so noisy whilst playing though. Some are quite funny to listen to, a bit annoying none the less.

I really like Nadal and have watched his routine getting worse over the years. Not sure if it's OCD. I suspect it's superstition which a lot of sportsmen have.
His 2011 match against Rog is one of the great games of all time.
Even Andy has started grunting but Sharipova is the worse I have ever heard.
Prepared to put up with it to watch the glorious Wimbledon fortnight.

Oh no doubt he is an amazing player, but each year something else seems to creep into his routine. Did you see the "keepie uppie" competition? Tim Henman was pretty blooming good. Andy wanting a rematch as he was top before Mr Henman took part. Nadal only managed 20.

I missed that. They are all so competitive.
Had to laugh at Andy yesterday saying he must be number 2 son as his mother did not watch his match but had gone to watch his older brother. Bet she could have killed him

Damned if she did, damned if she hadn't ........ which ever way was 'wrong' , she should have stayed away from both matches

sportsmen are incredibly superstitious as a rule. If I watched Rafa between each and every point, he'd irritate me. Love watching him play though.
