No solutions, I'm afraid, but sympathy, as my daughter is lactose intolerant. Most medication contains lactose. She was told she couldn't possibly be asthmatic as medication seemed to make her breathing worse! And making sure she got lactose free medication for high blood pressure was an up hill struggle when she had pre-eclampsia.....

I saw a well qualified nutritionist who helped both my daughter and me find out what our intolerances are, though testing is never completely accurate. If you are allergic, rather than intolerant or sensitive, your doctor can refer you to a specialist. Other than that, email Dr Currie for help.

Hi dizzy ros - welcome to the forum.

There are other members on here with more experience of using an oestrogen gel plus a progesterone called Utrogestan which may be the way forward for you. Some GP's are not yet familiar with this regime which is why you may not have been offered it. These are the details about both products http://www.medicines.org.uk/EMC/medicine/19898/SPC/Oestrogel+Pump-Pack+Gel/ (scroll down to 6.1 for the list of what it contains. I am assuming that you still have your uterus so will have to add in a progesterone. Utrogestan is a well tolerated one (unless you have soya allergy) http://www.besins-healthcare.com/pdf/Utrogestan%20200mg%20PIL%20(English).pdf

I also have skin allergies but didn't have any problems with the patches. It may be worth giving them a go first. The skin will react quite quickly so you will know whether they suit you.

You will find lots of help and support on here.

Hi there dizzy ros. I too am lactose intolerant. Changed from Premarin tablets, to oestrogel a number of years ago as a result. Now on Estradot patches.

I have every sympathy. If I need medication, GP has to get out their drug bible to find stuff I can take. I also from asthma, so even some inhalers are out of the question.
