How many symptoms are there?
« on: December 25, 2013, 09:04:46 PM »

I just wondered, because I went on HRT at 48 to allow me to deal with my other major issues.  I thought it would be a couple of things as I have had last 12 months a tough time.  Well I can honestly say the only things I am dealing with at the moment and the least of my issues would you believe are my Crohns and Stoma!

All the other horrible stuff appears to be Meo related and I cannot believe how long I struggled with it and all the symptoms, as I could not distinguish which fell into which category

Lethargy
Insomnia
Flushes
Headache
Sinus
Ulcers
Memory
Migraine
Gums bleeding
Hair loss
Dizziness
Concentration

The list goes on, is it really such a long list, is it more?

Hi babypink2807
Additional things to add to the list:
aching joints,
burning and itchy fanny,
needing to wee all the time and at least twice during the night,
very dry skin
and, of course, vaginal atrophy.  The list goes on & on & on & on…………
My older sister had Crohns and my young sister had Ulcerative Colitis.  My younger sister has had a bag since she was 18 - she's now 56.
I do hope things are under control for you - having meno symptoms on top of your Crohns must be really tough.
I wish you well.  Merry Christmas.  DG xxx

I only asked about the symptoms as there seems to be so many, its incredible. I sat in the docs waiting room and there is a poster for Meopause and had a list of about 10 things all of which I ticked off then thought, well what about the rest.  That's why I thought it must be my illness and not the menopause.  Evidentially most of my symptoms are the damn menopause.  We should create a list and see what is on there so folk are not working if they have something that no one else has.

Its incredible the difference HRT makes but if I hadn't made that choice I would never have known and gone on struggling, the worst thing is you know you have to come off it at some point eeeek

There is a list of symptoms around somewhere. Green menu I think. It has a whole lot more than ten symptoms though.

There is the other side to the coin. We do put everything down to the menopause and sometimes it's just the aging process or an illness. Always better to get checked out if something new comes up.
